Sheltering Pines Bluefaced Leicester Sheep Having become fascinated with the Bluefaced Leicester Breed after seeing them for several years at Michigan Fiber Festival, Sheltering Pines purchased 2 ewes and a ram in the summer of 2006 from Brenda Lelli. Sheltering Pines' pens at MFF have nearly always been located next to Brenda and Mark Lelli's pens, so it was inevitable that after seeing these lovely sheep we became interested in them. We have enjoyed them so much that we purchased 2 more adult ewes this year and plan to maintain a small flock of them. We also had 2 BFL lambs born here this year. BFL fleece is extremely high-quality. It will compliemnt our Shetland Flock nicely. At this time we do not plan to cross, but to breed purebreds. We will probably have a few for sale in summer, 2008. |
